core strength and balance

how we help you succeed

stand your ground

Core strength and balance are crucial because they provide the foundation for efficient movement, injury prevention, and overall stability in daily activities and athletic performance.

Several muscle groups make up your core, including those surrounding your spine and shoulder blades, and muscles in your hips, buttocks and pelvis.

Together, they provide stability, linking your lower and upper body enabling you to move in any direction, or stand still without losing your balance.

At Movement HQ we're here to help you build and maintain your core strength, support proper posture, reduce the risk of falls and injuries, and enhance overall stability in everyday activities and sports.

In our small-group classes, we scale our exercises to match individual capabilities, with personalised modifications and progressions provided by our coaches.

This ensures you can work at your own pace whilst steadily advancing toward your goals.

This includes people new to exercise, regular gym-goers wanting to improve core strength, women returning to exercise after having a baby, or anyone wanting to improve overall strength for independence.

I came to MHQ about 8 weeks post partum. I wanted a gym with a good strength program so that I could get my body strong post baby. I started with a trial and o was so amazed at how well looked after I was at this gym. The trainers took the time to get to know me and made sure everything I was doing was with good form and most importantly-that it was safe for me. The trainers are so well educated here and really know their stuff. I'm one year post partum now and I'm stronger that I was pre-pregnancy. It's such a lovely family vibe. It's ruined all other gyms for me I can't really see myself going anywhere else.

Joining MovementHQ was the best decision I've made since moving to Sydney. My partner and I joined the gym to meet new people and get back into fitness after travelling. I had a knee injury which put me off consistent strength training for years. Within a few months of attending a variety of classes focused on strength, mobility, conditioning and stretching, the injury went away and I've found a great community to train with each morning. All of the coaches are really knowledgeable and motivating! It feels like personal training in a class environment and the 6.30am classes set my day up perfectly. I highly recommend anyone interested in getting back into fitness, or simply looking to progress, to try MovementHQ out!

Best Gym & wellness facilities. Feel good vibes. You will not find a small class gym with better trainers or variety in resistance and weight training with conditioning AND Pilates on the northern beaches. Movement HQ keeps me motivated, makes us accountable and consistent. It’s such a welcome, supportive community that helps us all do our best for showing up. Weights, Body weight, hand stands, Pilates, HIIT, Animal Flow even (I only tried it once. Ouch!) and Movement plus more. Love this place!!!

Love MHQ for the variety, excellent trainers and great community feel. Been training with Mark (owner) for 10 years. He knows his stuff and is pedantic about form and safety so you always get your body moving in the best way possible. Animal flow still my favourite way of moving.

I saw Tully McDonald for pain in my hip and back from playing sport. His knowledge is excellent and he treated my injury very effectively and professionally. I am now able to get back to exercising pain free and will definitely be coming back to see Tully in the future.
